An email is  a letter that we send by electronic mail (tha´s  the meaning). Years ago, when there were not internet we had to send hand writtenletters by postal service: we sent them in an envelope and we needed a stamp. Now we can do continue doing it but usually we send emails because they are faster.

Un email es una carta que mandamos por correo electrónico. Hace años cuando internet no exitía teníamos que mandar las cartas por correo postal; las metíamos en un sobre, le poníamos un sello y lo llevábamos al buzón. Ahora lo podemos seguir haciendo pero es más habitual mandar emails porque llegan al instante mientras que las cartas tardan unos días.

Podemos mandar emails formales  (a nuestros jefes, a organismos oficiales,...) o informales (a nuestros amigos o familia)


In the email we have to write:
From: the person who writes the email (la persona que escribe el email9
To: the person who recieve the email (quién lo recibe)
Subject: what is the email about (de qué trata, qué vamos a contar)
Attachment: if I send any document, picture, ...(si adjuntamos algún documento o foto)

WHY WAS THE STEAM ENGINE AN IMPORTANT INVENTION?

The Modern Age was a time of revolution and change!
¡La Edad Moderna fue un tiempo de revolución y de cambio!

The invention of the steam started the Industrial Revolution. Many factories  opened and products were manufactured more cheaply and quickly. Many people moved from rural to urban areas to work in the factories.

Con la invención de la máquina de vapor comenzó la Revolución Industrial. Se abrieron muchas fábricas y los productos se fabricaban de manera más rápida y barata. Mucha gente se fue de los pueblos a las ciudades para trabajar en las fábricas.

There was also a revolution in transport. The bicycle and the automobile were invented in the 19th century. Thanks to the steam locomotive, materials and people  could be transported much more quickly.

There was also a revolution in communication. With the invention of the telegraph, telephone and radio, people could communicate more quickly and over greater distances.
